Tracking Your Income Tax Refund

It can be difficult to track your income tax refund if you’re not aware of the system, at Which Way to Pay India we have compiled a basic know-how to help guide you through.

The Income Tax Department will respond to all queries from assessed individuals regarding the refunding of income tax through the Tax Information Network (TIN). The refund banker is appointed within the SBI and they can process refunds, routing them directly to the assessees' bank accounts. There is flexibility in the fact that if direct electronic credit is not preferential, a cheque can be sent to the address provided in your income tax return. All refunds are handled by the Central Processing Centre (CPC) at Bangalore. You can look online and keep up to date with the status of your income tax refund. You can do so by indicating your PAN, relevant assessment year and then clicking on 'submit'.
