Economic Guidance Given To The Indian Public

It has been brought to light by economists the paradox that is India. The country produces endless clever economists which you come across everywhere in the world, whether it is in a financial institution or a university. Indians everywhere are giving economic analyses of how we should solve the global crisis or combat poverty and so on. So the question is being ask why is the Indian economy itself so far behind the rest of Asia. It is true in the last 20 years India has experienced rapid expansion yet the country still has high rates of poverty and unemployment. This is becoming more worrying since the country’s growth is falling to 5% and still public debates on economic problems are limited.

Due to these problems the launch of the new Indian Economics blog, called Ideas for India has been greatly welcomed. This blog was created last week in Delhi by Abhijit Banergee who is a famous Indian Economic professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Jairam Ramesh, who is an Indian cabinet minister, the blog gives economists in India and beyond a chance to write non-expert readers.

The blog started off by giving an analysis of corruption within India’s rural job-creation scheme, it gave an economic reason for by caste identity still exists and it gives an essay on the allocation of land within India. These sites are very useful for the Indian public as it allows them to come to terms with and learn about the problems that exist within their country and what must be done to solve them and boost the economy so it is not lagging so far behind other Asian countries.
